Affordable ‘Kalyan Mandapams’ Bring Relief to UP Families

LUCKNOW – The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is providing significant relief to low and middle-income families with the construction of affordable community centers, known as “Kalyan Mandapams.” These venues are designed to host weddings and social events at a fraction of the cost of private halls.

A total of 66 Kalyan Mandapams have been approved under the Mukhyamantri Nagar Srijan Yojana, with 39 already completed and 27 nearing completion. The initiative aims to provide dignified and cost-effective venues for families, addressing the financial strain of expensive private banquet halls.

On Saturday, CM Yogi inaugurated two new centers in Gorakhpur, which were built using funds from his MLA development quota. A key feature of these facilities is their affordability, with a booking charge of just Rs 11,000. This stands in stark contrast to the Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh typically spent on private venues.

Bookings for these venues will be managed through a transparent online portal on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring fairness and accessibility for all citizens. Each mandapam is equipped with a modern hall, kitchen, changing rooms, and toilets, providing a complete solution for social gatherings.

The newly completed mandapams are spread across numerous districts, including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Ayodhya, while construction is progressing in others like Agra, Varanasi, and Prayagraj, bringing this much-needed social infrastructure to many more urban areas across the state.
